About Me

ABOUT ME
Sofia Hamilton
I’m a Licensed Educational Psychologist with over 20 years of experience in Education and over four years in Psychology.
I also hold an MSc in Psychology with an emphasis in Educational Psychology and am currently pursuing my PhD in the same field. I now offer services through The Institute for Essential Care (TIFEC), which allows me to work with a cross-section of learners from early years to adult learners. In the words of George Evans, “every student can learn, just not on the same day or in the same way” this fuels my passion for creating better learning opportunities for all ages.
I have a particular interest in working with exceptional students, including the gifted and talented, those with learning and thinking differences (dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, ADHD, etc.), ones on the autism spectrum and other neurodivergent individuals.
My services include individual and group therapy for self-esteem, depression and anxiety. I also offer psychological testing, evaluation, diagnosis, counselling, and intervention. I work exceptionally well with all clients, especially children, which can be attributed mainly to my other career as a fully qualified teacher.
Additionally, I share psychological tips and coping strategies to assist family members and students with mental, emotional, and social challenges during my speaking engagements and weekly Radio Show “Psychologically Speaking,” which airs on Praise 87.9 FM a local radio station in the Cayman Islands.
